Why choose a Physical Therapist for Fitness Coaching?

Physical Therapists (PT) are allied health care providers with expertise in movement analysis, body mechanics and how it relates to every day life. Our scope of practice includes exercise prescription, health promotion and nutritional advice to provide a holistic approach to well-being.

MISSION STATEMENT

My mission is to make a difference in someone's life.  I value equality, empowerment and health and my vision is to help women manage their pain so that they don't feel like they need to use medication, experience mental anguish or use other means to cope. I will promote community health and wellness by providing accessible resources and education especially for members of underserved communities that may not have an advocate or access to health education.  

What is the difference between Physical Therapy and FITNESS Coaching?

Physical Therapy is for the person with an acute or chronic injury or pain. Clients are able to receive PT services under direct access laws in Michigan without a prescription for 21 days. A prescription from your physician will be needed after wards to continue. 


Fitness coaching services are subscription based and for the client without an acute injury or pain.  This if for someone who may have had an injury in the past or lives with chronic pain in need of expert guidance for starting or returning to an exercise regime.

What is Lifestyle Medicine

Lifestyle medicine is a medical specialty that uses therapeutic lifestyle interventions as a primary modality to treat chronic conditions including, but not limited to, cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and obesity.    Applying the six pillars of lifestyle medicine—a whole-food, plant-predominant eating pattern, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances and positive social connections—also provides effective prevention for these conditions.

What is TPI certified

TPI is the acronym for Titleist Performance Institute. This service is for golfers interested in specific mobility and exercise programming to improve their golf game. The TPI 12 point physical movement screen will be completed and programming based on result

Is insurance accepted?

Currently all services are cash-based however for physical therapy services, a superbill will be furnished which can be turned into your insurance company for reimbursement.  It is the clients responsibility to check with their insurance company for reimbursement.
